We deliberately didn't put bigger perks behind the supporter tier. The newsletter has to earn its open in your inbox on the strength of the writing, not because the good stuff is paywalled. So the trade is straightforward: $20 a year if you find this useful, nothing if you don't.

Why $20

It's a single annual price that covers our actual costs, domain, email sending, hosting, the tools that make the editorial pipeline work, and gives a little runway to keep building. We picked it after talking to other local-publisher operators about what the Valley-scale audience will pay for something they actually read.

A founding-tier band ($50/yr, first 100 supporters) may show up later if subscriber traction supports it. For now: one tier, $20, that's it.

Where the money goes

We'll publish a one-line annual breakdown of supporter revenue against operating cost on the How we workpage once we have a year on the books. Until then: the cost of running a Valley publication at this scale is a few thousand dollars a year, and one operator's time. Supporter dollars cover the cash costs; sponsor dollars and time efficiency cover the rest.

One last note

Supporters can cancel anytime, reply to any Valley Pulse email and we'll handle it. We don't auto-renew without warning. The annual renewal email goes out 30 days before; one-click skip if it's not the right year for you.
