Privacy policy.

What we collect, who we share it with, and how to opt out.

Short version: we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand which Valley coverage actually helps you, we never sell your email address, and you can opt out at any time.

Data we collect

  • Email + subscription preferences, only if you sign up for the newsletter. Stored in our subscriber database and used to send the weekly issue and confirmations.
  • Analytics events, page views, clicks on key surfaces (newsletter signup, advertiser inquiry, partner sign-up), session recordings (anonymized; PII inputs masked). Only collected after you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner.
  • Operational logs, IP address and user-agent on every request, kept for 30 days for fraud and abuse review. Never linked to subscriber accounts.

Third-party data processors

We use the following services. Each is contracted as a data processor on our behalf; none receives data they can use for their own marketing.

  • Google Analytics 4, anonymized page-view + event telemetry. IP anonymization on. Opt out by rejecting analytics in the cookie banner.
  • Microsoft Clarity, heatmap + session recording. PII inputs (email, payment fields) are masked by default.
  • Resend, newsletter delivery + transactional email. Receives your email and the message we send you; never your browsing data.
  • Stripe, payment processing for supporters and sponsors. Receives payment-card data directly via Stripe Elements; we never see card numbers.
  • Cal.com, advertiser discovery-call scheduling. Receives your name, email, and the call details if you book.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

Per CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) and CPRA (California Privacy Rights Act): We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The analytics we use (GA4 + Clarity) are configured to anonymize IP addresses and disable advertising-personalization signals.

To opt out of analytics tracking entirely, click Reject allon the cookie banner (or clear your browser's site data for thevalleypulse.com to re-trigger the banner).

For a formal opt-out request, including the right to know, delete, correct, or limit use of your personal information, email [email protected]. We respond within 45 days per CCPA §1798.130.
